How to compare deal flyers across Canada

Deal flyers aren’t read like a grocery list. Variable formats, regional editions, fine print: here’s a 10-minute method to decide if a detour is worth it.

Start from a short list, not the flyer

Write 5–10 items you actually plan to buy (tools, electronics, pharmacy, home). Search those first in each relevant flyer.

Without a list, the flyer dictates purchases—and impulses.

Align dates and participating stores

Same banner, different editions by city. Check the window and, if possible, your local store.

On PromoSimple, postal code helps load the local edition before you compare.

Compute net savings (not the struck-through %)

Advertised savings − gas/parking − value of your time − extras (warranty, delivery). If the balance is thin, stay online or wait.

A “40% off” on a model you weren’t buying isn’t a deal.

Two banners are often enough

Compare your usual store + the nearest competitor on your key items. Completeness slows you down without improving the receipt.

PromoSimple groups multiple flyers: filter by category, then open only useful circulars.

Short list, local dates, net savings, two banners: grocery-style discipline for deal flyers. Use PromoSimple to compare before you drive.
