Net savings ≈ discount − (gas + parking + value of your time). If the result is small, stay local or wait.

Example: $40 off, 45 minutes round-trip, $8 gas → often not worth it unless you batch other errands.

Call or check availability. A trip for an “online only” item wastes the afternoon.

Keep a note of the advertised price to avoid surprises.

Large price gaps (appliances, TVs, pro tools), a store already on your route, or several items at once.
